Compare large sets without getting lost
With raaj, raajaa and the three rupe groups, this page has long runs of similar names. Work in rounds. First scroll through and note the three or four previews you like. Then change the sample text to your real wording and look at only those. Write the exact preview names down, such as raaj_5 or rupe_bo4, so you can find them again.
Pick the right export
- HD PNG keeps your chosen background colour. Use it when the text image is the whole design.
- HD Transparent removes the background, so you can place the text over a photo or a coloured shape in any image editor.
- TTF is the font file itself. Download it when you want to keep typing in your own design software.
Sizes for common designs
Export your text larger than you need, because scaling an image down keeps it sharp while scaling up makes it blurry. As a guide, a square social post is usually 1080 by 1080 pixels, a story or reel cover is 1080 by 1920, and a YouTube thumbnail is 1280 by 720. An A4 page printed at 300 dpi needs about 2480 by 3508 pixels.
Checking your design before you share it
Look at the finished design at a small size, as it will appear on a phone, and make sure the Punjabi is still readable. Check that the text colour stands out clearly from the background. For print, view the design at full size and look closely at the vowel marks above and below each line.
Installing and using a font
On Windows, right-click the downloaded TTF and choose Install. On a Mac, double-click it and press Install Font. Restart your design program, then select the font by the name on its preview card. Paste the ASCII code from under the preview into your document and the Gurmukhi letters will appear. If you see English letters instead, the font is not installed on that computer.
